Kazakhstan and the United States have renewed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership, focusing on expanding trade, investment, and cooperation in key areas such as energy, critical minerals, digitalization, and transport. This reaffirmation came during discussions held on October 19 in Samarkand between Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The meeting, which took place alongside the C5+1 Ministerial Meeting, also involved the participation of representatives from the five Central Asian countries. The discussions centered on regional economic development, trade, investment, and connectivity. Both Kazakhstan and the United States emphasized the importance of enhancing economic ties and attracting investment to propel joint projects under their strategic partnership.
A significant point of discussion was the implementation of agreements made during the November 2025 meeting between Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and US President Donald Trump. Tileuberdi highlighted opportunities for American investment and the integration of advanced technologies, particularly in sectors like energy, critical minerals, and transport infrastructure.
Participants at the C5+1 Ministerial Meeting underscored the need to strengthen transport and logistics networks and diversify supply chains in the region. They also discussed advancing joint initiatives in energy, critical minerals, and digital innovation. The meeting culminated in a joint statement reaffirming the commitment to long-term cooperation and the execution of agreed initiatives.
