INDIANAPOLIS—Carrier has introduced a comprehensive strategy to mitigate the adverse health effects of deteriorating air quality caused by widespread wildfires across North America. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to public health and environmental stewardship. Given that scientific evidence indicates that airborne particulate matter from wildfire smoke can exacerbate respiratory and cardiovascular conditions, Carrier advises property owners and facility managers to implement targeted interventions. These include the installation of high-efficiency HVAC filtration systems, structural sealing to prevent smoke infiltration, and the use of portable air purifiers equipped with HEPA filters.
“Indoor air quality is a critical component of community health, particularly during wildfire events,” stated Nick Arch, Vice President and General Manager of Residential Solutions at Carrier. “Our technologies are engineered to provide effective protection and peace of mind.”
As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, Carrier recently donated air purification units valued at $2.5 million to educational institutions and frontline personnel in Los Angeles.
