Trump Dismisses Mojtaba Khamenei as “Mistake” in Decisive Iran Conflict

by admin477351

President Donald Trump has labeled the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran’s new Supreme Leader a “big mistake” that is unlikely to endure. Speaking from Florida, Trump shifted the focus to the military’s progress, which he describes as “very complete, pretty much.” He noted that the U.S. and Israel have successfully neutralized Iran’s navy, air force, and primary communications grid in just under two weeks.
The President framing the war as a “short-term excursion” meant to eliminate “evil” rather than initiate a permanent occupation. He highlighted that over 3,000 targets were struck in the first week, decimating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard’s capability. Trump’s rhetoric aims to reassure his base that the U.S. is not being dragged into another long-term regional conflict.
Trump defended the pre-emptive strikes by claiming that Iran was 100% prepared to attack the United States and the Middle East within a week. He praised the “technical skill” of the military in achieving its goals much faster than initial predictions of four to five weeks. This “ultimate victory” is seen by the President as the only way to end the “long-running danger” once and for all.
The economic impact of the war has been severe, with oil prices briefly reaching $119.50 before Trump’s comments on a “soon to end” war caused a 27% drop. The President warned that any “bad” actions in the Strait of Hormuz would result in a U.S. strike “twenty times harder.” He has also considered taking direct control of the strait to guarantee shipping security.
While Trump speaks of a successful mission, the war has displaced nearly 700,000 people in Lebanon and led to over 1,200 deaths in Iran. The President concluded his remarks by stating that the world would be “much safer” once the military objectives are fully met. The administration’s focus remains on a “very complete” victory that ensures long-term regional stability.
